WEDDINGS:

It is important to remember that this will be a religious ceremony, if occurring in a church. It is therefore up to you to ensure that your priest is happy with your choice of music as occasionally non-liturgical music is considered inappropriate.

The following is a proposed layout for a Wedding Ceremony:

  • Entrance (Walking up the Aisle) - Instrumental.
  • Lighting of Candles - Instrumental.
  • The Psalm - Sung.
  • Alleluia - Sung.
  • Lighting of the Marriage Candle - Instrumental.
  • The Offertory - Sung or Instrumental
  • Sign of Peace - Instrumental.
  • Communion - Sung (Usually 2 songs, 1 to be Religious).
  • Signing of the Register - Your Choice.
  • Recessional (Exiting) - Instrumental.

CIVIL CEREMONY:

It is important to remember that there is a strict policy where no religious content can be included in any music or readings/poems chosen for a civil ceremony.

The following is a proposed layout for a Civil Ceremony:

  • Entrance Music.
  • After Opening Reading.
  • After Marriage Vows.
  • After Exchange of Rings. (This is an optional part of the ceremony)
  • During Lighting of The Candle. (This is an optional part of the ceremony)
  • After Marriage is formally declared/Signing of Register.
  • Exit Music.
